After a fairly good night's sleep, we managed to get out of bed around 8:00! In the morning, we all ate crumpets with jam and played trains with Ella again. She is quite good with new people and full of energy. She also really likes making animal sounds. :) We parted and took 2 buses to get over to the Tower of London. Our London Pass was great! We just got to go straight in, and it really wasn't too crowded. We started in the Bloody Tower. This is where the two sons of the king, Edward IV, were murdered. It is interesting because they don't actually know who killed them, but possible suspects are Richard III and Henry VII. Next, we saw Anne Boleyn's beheading site. We then got to see my favorite part, the Crown Jewels!!! Logan really lik

ed the swords. My favorite part was seeing all the crowns. The coronation robe was cool too. All together, it weighs 20 pounds! Next, we went over to the White Tower where there was a huge Henry VIII exhibit in honor of the 500th year since he ascended to the throne. The exhibit was a collection of all his armour and weapons. And by the way, he was big, but he wasn't quite what I'd consider obese using today's standards. ;) After the Tower, we walked over to the Tower Bridge and went of a River Boat Cruise down the Thames. We then saw Big Ben (which actually refers to the bell
inside the tower, not the clock itself).

We then went to the Tate Britain and saw some artwork. My 3 favorites were paintings of some girls playing with lanterns ("Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose"), one depicting "The Last Judgement," and one from a scene in
A Midsummer Night's Dream ("Titania and Bottom"). After that long day, we made our way home on the buses again (there is a tube strike going on until tomorrow morning). Now, we're watching Ella and hanging out while our hosts are out to dinner! We. Are. Tired. Tomorrow is Windsor!! :)
