June 15, 2009

We left Suzanne's today and got ourselves some Full English Breakfast, which includes bacon, sausage, fried eggs, tomato, baked beans, toast, and tea. We hauled ourselves to Hostel 639 in Northwest London. We left our bags and headed down to Hampton Court Palace. What a cool place! First of all, it is huge! You could spend all day there...and that is what we did! We saw some apartments and got to see some impersonators of Catherine Paar and her sister getting ready for her wedding to King Henry VIII. Then, we explored the grounds around the palace. We played Pooh Sticks and basked in the sun. It really has been great weather here! Logan bought a poster with a sweet timeline on it as well. Next, we went back to check in to our hostel. It's a pretty shady place and very few people speak English, but for the price, it's a pretty good deal. We've invented a pretty sweet lock mechanism for the closet to store our stuff in. We used all three locks to make it work! We looked around the lounge a bit and found no English-speakers, so we decided to go to the pub next door. So far, I've only been carded once, and that was in Windsor. We watched cricket at the pub. It looks really hard, because they don't use any gloves...I hope I learn how to play when I'm in Oxford! We also ate their homemade hummus which was phenominal! Now, we're back at the hostel, hanging out. We don't have any roommates though. :( Oh well, we have to get energy for tomorrow. The next entry will be in Paris!
