June 12, 2009

Today was another fun-filled day. We got up early again! The jetlag really hasn't been too bad. The tube was back on, so we took that and some other trains to get to Windsor, a.k.a. my favorite! We went to the castle first. This was a great day to go because tomorrow, they are closing the state rooms to prepare for the royal family or something. That would've been a bummer if we missed that! We got to see Queen Mary's Dollhouse, which always amazes me. It is a huge version of the state rooms and it is very detailed...so cool! Then we got to go through all of the state rooms. The room that always impresses me is the dining room. It fits a table that I'm sure could fit about 50 or more people. I also really enjoyed the bedchambers. Annie liked the room with all the crests in it. After the castle, we walked over to Eton College. Unfortunately, it was closed to the public today. However, we did get to see some boys playing cricket! It looks a lot harder in person than in the movies. Also, we saw some boys going to class in their penguin suits and bowties that they have to wear! I don't think I could handle getting that dressed up for class. :/ Later, we did some shopping and played with swans in the river. We ate at a local pub where Annie and I, of course, ate fish and chips. Logan had bangers and mash (sausage links on a pile of mashed potatoes...very British). I also had my first ever (legal) drink! After the long day out, we are quite tired and we have decided to retire early so as to wake up for the changing on the guard tomorrow morning!!

  1. Nice bangers and mash. Logan, if you find haggis when you get back to London (might be hard to find) you've got to try it.

And don't forget, we have Casa Bonita night when you get back. Mmmm, tasty!
